For career centers
An honest outside read, before the advising appointment.
Blind Read shows a student how their resume reads to a stranger in a 30-second scan: the level it signals, where a recruiter would stop, and what would change their mind. They arrive at your appointment knowing what to work on.
What a student gets
- How they read: the level and role a recruiter would file them under on a first pass.
- Where a reader stops: the line that sets the frame, and the one most likely to cause hesitation.
- What to fix first: each fix written two ways, for when they have the detail and when they don’t.
- A re-read: they make changes, run it again within 30 days, and see what moved.
Built for students and new grads without full-time experience. Internships, projects, campus jobs and activities count as real experience.
Built to support your advisors, not replace them
Students often show up to a resume review not knowing what’s wrong, so the first half of the appointment goes to finding the problem. A read beforehand gives them a starting point, and gives your advisors more time for the conversation only a person can have: targeting, story, and what to say in the interview.
Blind Read doesn’t rewrite the resume for them. It shows what their resume is communicating so they can make the changes themselves.
What we won’t do
- We never invent numbers. Where a stronger line needs a figure, the read leaves a [bracket] for the student to fill in with something true. Nothing goes on their resume they can’t defend in an interview.
- No subscription. One read, one price, with a re-read included.
- No promises of interviews or offers. The read is honest about what a resume can and can’t fix.
It doesn’t give you the full answer. You fill in your own details, which helps you understand what phrasing and details matter on a resume. I love it!
Private by default
Each read lives at a private link only the student has. We don’t look at a student’s resume or read unless they choose to share it with us.
Campus codes
Students can buy a read on their own for $29. For a department, program, team or cohort, we can set up a code so your students get reads at a group rate or at no cost to them.
Available for schools in the United States and Canada.
Questions

- Which students is it for?
- Students and new grads without full-time experience. Students with full-time professional experience can use the standard read.
- Does it replace our resume reviews?
- No. It works best right before one.
- Who’s behind Blind Read?
- Blind Read is a product of Promontory CX LLC, New York.
