Blind Read is run by Promontory CX LLC, based in New York. This page says what we collect, what we do with it, and when it’s gone. If anything here doesn’t match what you see on the site, tell us at hello@blindread.com.
What we collect
- The text of your resume. We pull the text out of the file you upload (or the text you paste) and keep that text so your read can be shown back to you. We don’t keep the file itself, and we don’t keep its file name.
- What you tell us about your search: your current title, the roles you’re going for, and the levels you’re considering.
- The read we produce from all of the above.
- Your checkout email, stored with your read so we can email your private link and send it again if you lose it.
- A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit how many reads can be run from one connection in a day. We can’t turn it back into your address.
- Anonymous usage events, such as “a read was started” or “a PDF was downloaded”, with the page they happened on. These carry a random ID that lives in your browser tab and disappears when you close it. They contain no resume content, no role, no employer, and nothing that identifies you.
We don’t ask for your name or phone number, and we don’t create accounts. Stripe asks for an email at checkout for your receipt; we also store it with your read to send your private link. We never ask for your age, date of birth, gender, race, disability or any other protected characteristic, and we’d rather you left them out. The site doesn’t set tracking cookies of its own or load anything from analytics networks; see “Advertising” below for the one exception.
If you join the waitlist, we use your email only to tell you when Blind Read is available in your country, and you can ask us to delete it anytime at hello@blindread.com.
What we do with it
We use your resume and search details to produce your read and show it back to you. We use your email to send your read links and, at most, one short follow-up asking how the read helped. No marketing lists, and you can ask us to delete it anytime at hello@blindread.com.
To produce the read, your resume text and the details you gave us are sent to an AI model — Google’s Gemini, reached through Lovable, the platform that hosts Blind Read. Neither Lovable nor Google uses it to train AI models, and neither do we. Google keeps requests for a limited time solely to detect misuse of its service, under its own terms; after that, they’re gone.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. You enter your card and billing details on Stripe’s own checkout page, and Stripe handles them under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details. From Stripe we keep the payment reference that ties your payment to your read, and your checkout email to send and recover your private link.
Advertising
Advertising measurement. We use Google Ads conversion tracking. When you arrive at Blind Read from one of our Google ads, Google sets a cookie that lets us see whether that visit led to a purchase. This tells us which ads work; it doesn’t give Google your resume, your read, or your payment details. You can opt out of personalized ads at adssettings.google.com.
Who sees it
Nobody at Blind Read reads your resume or your read. The only exceptions: if you send us your read or ask us to look at it, or if we have to investigate abuse of the service or a security problem. We don’t review reads for quality, marketing or anything else without your permission.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share it with employers, recruiters, advertisers or data brokers. We never publish your resume or any part of your read. The only thing that would change that is a valid legal demand we’re required to comply with.
How long we keep it
Everything — your resume text, your details, your read, your checkout email, and the IP hash — is deleted automatically 60 days after you run the read. That runs on a schedule; it happens whether or not you come back. Anonymous usage events are deleted on the same 60-day schedule.
You can delete sooner. Every read gets its own private link. That link opens your read, and from it you can delete the read in one click — no login, and the record is gone immediately. We store a one-way hash of the link for access, and an encrypted copy for emailing it back to you. If you lose the link, use Lost your link? with your checkout email to request links to reads from the last 60 days. We limit requests to prevent abuse. Each read and its stored email are removed together, whether you delete early or the 60-day clock ends.
If you use your included re-read, your two reads link to each other. Deleting one removes only that read and the link to it. Each read is deleted 60 days after its own upload.
Our hosting provider keeps routine database backups for disaster recovery. A deleted read can remain in those backups for a short period until they roll off; it’s never restored or used.
Downloads
If you download your read as a PDF, that copy is yours and lives on your device. It doesn’t contain your private link.
Security
Everything travels over HTTPS and is encrypted at rest by our hosting and database provider. Resume data can only be reached by our server, never directly from a browser. Your IP address is stored only as a one-way hash. Private links are stored as a one-way hash for access and encrypted for email recovery. Our error logs are built to leave resume content out.
Where it’s processed
Your data is stored and processed mainly in the United States; some of our service providers may process it in other countries.
Who it’s for
Blind Read is for adults in an active job search. Please don’t use it if you’re under 18.
Your choices
You can delete your read at any time with your private link. If you have a question, or you want to exercise a privacy right available where you live, email hello@blindread.com. You can identify a read with your private link or the email used at checkout.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
